The Applicant or their representative must then create a profile in the Prince Edward Island expression of interest system. Here you will be expected to provide a valid email address as well as identification information including passport details. Once verified you may begin to complete your profile.

This profile will remain active for 6 months with applicants being eligible to have only one active profile at any one time.

Step 2:  Invitation to apply

If you are invited to apply you will receive your invitation through email. In the email include your file and instructions on how to submit your file. With an invitation, you must also complete the application forms. Those include the complete application package, as well as all supporting documentation and a $10,000 application fee that may be submitted to the office of immigration.

Step 3: Application review

Here the Immigration Office will review your application and issue a work permit support letter if approved.

Step 4: Work permit application

In this step, the Federal Government will review your application and issue a work permit if it is approved. The work permit is valid for 2 years.

Step 5: Arrival

After the work permit is issued the applicant arrives in PEI

Step 6: Performance agreement

The applicant must now settle down in PEI and run a business for a minimum time of 12 months. Once the conditions of the performance agreement are met, applicants are able to submit their applications for nomination.

Step 7: Nomination Certificate

If conditions were met, a Nomination Certificate will be issued from the province. The Applicant then submits documents to the province of PEI for review.

Step 8: Permanent residency

Here an application may be submitted to the Federal Government for permanent residency. If an approved client receives PR and is now a permanent resident.
